Refrigerated trucks are an extremely important part of cold chain transportation, and the three main parts of refrigerated trucks are chassis, upper compartment, and refrigeration unit.
Many truck drivers have a question before planning to buy a refrigerated truck: How to choose a refrigeration unit? Today, our article will talk to you about the little secrets of refrigeration units.
1. Vehicle refrigeration units are generally divided into independent refrigeration units and non-independent refrigeration units.
As the name suggests, an independent refrigeration unit means that the refrigeration unit has a separate power source and can work independently without being restricted by the working state of the engine.
A non-independent refrigeration unit means that the unit itself has no power device and cannot work alone. It must rely on the engine to drive the compressor to work.
In addition, there is a more special refrigeration machine in my country's refrigerated truck industry: the common board machine on second-hand sea cabinets. This type of unit needs to be powered on to work. Therefore, many second-hand sea cabinets are modified refrigerated compartments with generator sets, but this type of unit is generally not considered a vehicle refrigeration unit.
2. Choose according to the length of the car body:
Generally speaking, independent refrigeration units or non-independent refrigeration units are selected according to the size of the refrigerated truck body. From the market point of view, refrigerated trucks with a body below 6 meters and a cargo box volume of 4-31 cubic meters mostly choose non-independent units.
Refrigerated trucks with a body above 6 meters mostly choose independent units; according to different vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, the independent refrigeration units selected are also different. Trucks mostly use medium-sized independent refrigeration units; semi-trailers mostly use large refrigeration units, which are the refrigeration units we often see arranged in front of the trailer.
Of course, it does not mean that 6 meters of the body is an absolute limit line. It depends on the requirements of different goods. You can choose flexibly according to your needs. After all, the one that suits you is the best.
3. Choose according to the temperature requirements of the goods being transported:
Different goods have different temperature requirements, and the corresponding refrigeration machine power is also different. For example, the distribution of frozen foods such as ice cream generally requires a low temperature of minus 18 degrees, the transportation of cold fresh meat requires minus 5 degrees, and the temperature requirements of different fresh fruits and vegetables are also different.
Especially for cold chain transportation of vaccines and medicines with special requirements for transportation temperature. Therefore, you can choose a deep refrigeration unit or a fresh-keeping unit according to the temperature requirements of the goods. In addition, some goods require the refrigeration unit to have a defrosting function during transportation, which should also be clearly understood when choosing.
4. Choose according to transportation mileage:
Transportation mileage also has requirements for the type of refrigeration machine. Non-independent refrigeration units are more suitable for short-distance transportation in some cities and towns. The transportation distance is short and the cost is lower. This is also matched with the second rule of choosing refrigeration units based on the length of the carriage. In cities and towns, short-distance transportation is basically more used in carriages below 6 meters.
For long-distance transportation, non-independent refrigeration units are more suitable. Even if the engine stops working during loading and unloading, the refrigeration unit can work normally.
